Je vois deux approches possibles.
Soit on exclue les instructions SSE du kernel, mais on ajoute du code pour que ce soit supporté côté applicatif, soit on ajoute un #ifdef SSE_ENABLED pour définir à la compilation si le kernel accepte les instructions SSE.
