[BUG] Faceting sortBy alpha not working as expected

I can't figure out, how to make facets sort alphabetically. I can sort them by count correctly, but setting sortBy to index, will simply use the sorting of the options.data array. I suppose this is the intended behavior since alpha is just an alias for index, but how can I actually sort them alphabetically?

sortBy = alpha works for me in typoscript. Solr 12.0
