Pixel 2 phone;
Android 8.1

Steps:
I hit "+" on newly installed app;
give it a name (eg Mike_Offline)
I hit "Save".

Result:
"Adding the Calendar failed! If you using cyanogenmod: Make sure that ...Privacy Guard... IF you are using Android 4.3 App Ops:.....read write access...OK"

Has this corporate privacy joke now come to where every new version of the corporate OS is a "gotcha" on privacy? Some new tweak in code that absoletes old privacy apps? Or is this a bug?

PS. Even if I allow calendar permissions, it fails:

"Not supported. Please open calendar manually!"

what does this mean? any help appreciated. should the app be pulled from android oreo version of play store as incompatible?
