Note on ISO19115-1 implementation in GeoNetwork

"This International Standard is fully independent from the previous version with a new name and date."

A complete new schema plugin to be created:

  • XSD available (missing MI_Metadata ? to check ISO19110 link because feature catalog could now be embedded in the record)
  • Schema identification
  • Schematron (cf. UML diagrams)
  • Indexing
  • Translation
  • IO
  • Conversion from/to ISO19139 (required for migration and compatibility with INSPIRE)
  • Export
  • CSW mapping & outputSchema
  • Process: relations, thumbnails
  • Options:
  • Harvesters: OGC:WxS
  • Migration Merge ISO19110 record related to an ISO19139 record
  • Advanced: releasability could control the possibility to download/access resources ?

Metawal:

  • Migration iso19139.rw > iso19115-1 (will be similar to iso19139 > iso19115-1)

Hotspots:

  • service/dataset relation ie. operatesOn
  • DQ rely now on ISO19157
  • Feature catalog could be embedded
  • GML3.2.1
  • directory : analyze how a contact directory could be used for both ISO19139 and ISO19139-1

Question & note:

  • Still not sure how to make metadata on maps scope=document presentationForm=mapDigital ?
  • Many elements more detailed (eg. format is now a Citation) which will make editor more complex (and the need to rely on directory more important).
