For some reason MetaMask mobile does not handle multiple concurrent transaction requests, both using WalletConnect and in-app browser. We should investigate if there's a way to detect this and work around it. While we're at it we should do some double checks with other popular (mobile) wallets to make sure it works as expected.

I've been doing some tests today. I can't find any other wallets where this is an issue. Still need to see if there's a workaround for MetaMask Mobile.
