BareMetal OS makes new use of booting via a Floppy drive on legacy BIOS-based systems.
By default a 1MiB RAM Drive image (using a new filesystem, BMFS-lite) is added to the Floppy disk. This RAM Drive image is stored in memory and BareMetal-Monitor is able to load programs from it.
The Floppy disk can be ejected as soon as the system is booted.
Big thanks to Github user isoux for writing the floppy drive and DMA drivers needed in Pure64.
