Excessive dependency checking time

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. install the plugin dependency (palladio)
2. see the comment "Cannot perform operation. Computing alternate solutions, may take a while x/y"
3. wait for about 3 hours

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output would be readiness to install plugin. Instead a missing dependency shows up...

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Eclipse Luna (Modelling distro).

Please provide any additional information below.
The palladio urls also seem to be obsolete and do not match the reclipse-emf documentations. (just backtrack and go to .../releases/latest. Skip the nightlies for better stability... But that mandatory 3 hours + wait time is killing me. I've tried to install for about 2 days now and am ready to give it up and just write it off to a bad experience.

We are looking into this issue. Probably due to Palladio's recent new release and naming restructure.
