I have a pi 4 and noticed that when booting into cli instead of xfce, the local console does not scroll. It boots fine then the text shrinks (like scaling) a bit and it stops scrolling. If I alt arrow to a new console and back to tty1 the output is there.
Once it reaches the bottom of the screen it does it again needing switch to tty2 and back to tty1
