Issue Status: 1. Open 2. Started 3. Submitted 4. Done Work has been started. These users each claimed they can complete the work by 2 weeks from now. 1) moose-code has started work. Hello friends! Such a great bounty! I think you are right that it is so important to clearly communicate these topics, QV and QF, which seem overly complicated and are often misunderstood. I think I will be able to create a simple and exciting video that conveys the main concept and motivation for QV and QF. 2 minutes is challenging, but I think its necessary to keep it as short and simple as possible. I helped design and deploy the QV conservation DAO for wildcards.world, so I think I have an excellent grasp on the topic and what you are wanting to convey. I am obviously also familiar with the radical markets work, having had to do a similar explanation regarding Harberger Tax for wildcards.world. Trusting my experience lecturing Computer Science will show and bring forward a passionate, clear and simple explanation. Will keep you updated on my progress, and might ask a couple questions so to better align the video to your expectations. My teammates @DenhamPreen and @jasonsmythe will also likely help me and make sure its of good quality! Cheers The video will aim to be concise, full of animation, and intended for an audience without knowledge of these topics, explaining the context under this proposal fit to illustrate one example on each case later. I read all the provided documents in order to get an overview of the subject and tried to make a short video with some examples so that ppl might understand easily each comcept. Prize Title
Video Explanation of Quadratic Finance and Voting
Prize Bounty
DAI 200
Challenge Description
Why
Democracy and other public good governance systems are about giving each individual a say in and incentive to contribute to their communities. Current methods applied in capitalist democracies miss these goals and constitute a natural bias against minority needs as well as widespread “free riding” behavior.
The RadicalxChange community believes in two new mechanisms - Quadratic Finance and Voting - that produce decisions truer to the collective sentiment of a group of funders / voters. Quadratic Finance is a matching funding model that encourages more broad-based participation in raising and allocating resources toward public goods. Quadratic Voting is a new twist on democracy that allows individuals to express not just their choices, but also how strongly they feel about them.
What
To encourage broader experimentation and adoption of these mechanisms more people need to learn about their underlying magic as well as advantages compared to current, alternative systems. In this challenge, we ask you to create an entertaining two-minutes or less video that helps people understand the mechanics and benefits of Quadratic Finance and Voting. The winning video will serve as one of the major sources for introductory information about Quadratic Finance and Voting.
We are open to all kinds of approaches but want you to comply with our design guidelines in case you add self-made animations or text. Here are the corresponding design guidelines. Let us know if we can help you find the colors and fonts.
Background
Submission Requirements
The video format should be 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second. The duration should not exceed two minutes.
Ideally, you will upload your video to a dedicated Google Drive and submit the corresponding link. Alternatively, we will accept submissions via other cloud providers as well.
The RadicalxChange Foundation reserves all rights for further use of the winning video in this challenge, with due credit of course.
Submission Deadline
All submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (ET) on June 10th, 2020 to be considered.
Judging Criteria
We are looking for a coherent video explanation of QF and QV that we can flexibly fit into different channels at the RadicalxChange Foundation. We will award the prize to the individual / team that produces the most compelling and entertaining video explanation in line with our design guidelines.
Winner Announcement Date
We will assess submissions from June 11th to 17th, 2020. Winners will be announced by 11:59 PM (ET) on June 17th, 2020.
