Trying to put image on Kobo Glo N613.
Downloaded image from here http://23.163.0.39/bundles/inkbox/native/
Used balenaetcher to load the image onto card but when validating I get an error message Check archive is not corrupted.
When I installed the SD card it failed to load.
Tried again by downloading a second image but same result.
Used Rufus to load the image, no error message but when I installed the SD card it tried to load with the screen showing Ink Box loading but it then failed with the a Type 3 error message .
Any advice would be welcome

Is it the original SD card?

Original only 2GB so used a 8 GB and 32GB both failed. As balenaetcher seemed to indicate a problem with the image I'm assuming that is the case.

Can you try with the image hosted there http://pkgs-inkbox.duckdns.org:25560/bundles/inkbox/native/n613/inkbox-2.0-n613.xz
and also check if the checksum matches with the .sha256 file in the same folder?
Thanks

Ok will give it a go.

Used the SHA 256 from the original download and the checksum does not match.
Same result with the file from your link with validation error using belenaetcher

As I said on mobileread, you need to regenerate the image

Or tell me if your device is the same as tolino shine, I might clone it's image for you if it's the same device, kind of

Thanks for your input.
As I have already mentioned I have a Kobo Glo N613 so I'm not sure if this is compatible with tolino shine. Is it?
Have read your message on mobileread about regenerating image. I'm not sure how to do that. If it is possible to clone an image I would be happy to try this.

Geoff

I had this issue today with the same balenaEtcher error on a Kobo Glo N613, also replacing the 2 GB SD card with 8 GB. In the end I extracted the .xz file and added a .iso suffix to the filename, flashed it and it worked.

What

Ok, thanks for reporting. I suppose some magic spell has been cast on the image for it to suddenly start to work like that...

Hey, I'd rather be lucky than good any day!

Hey, I’m confirming this for a Kobo Glo N613 (though it’s marked as N514 within the Kobo OS). I encountered the same problem mentioned in this issue and resolved it the same way as @volgrol! However, I’m still not sure I fully understand why it worked…

Glad that you got it working!

I'd given up until I read about changing to .ios. I now have the Glo working. Thanks for all the advice.
