Heyo I'd like to try and implement this. I use a non-qwerty layout so this would be a nice feature to have.

I'd be more than happy for you to take this issue! I think the relevant code might be a bit messy, I was working on a refactor in another branch but didn't end up with the time to finish it due to my university studies. Let me know if anything is unclear.
