Sign up would be an offer of a verifiable credential (VC) and login would be a request for a proof of identity which would be satisfied by that same VC. Riley Hughes at IIWXXXI called this SSI usage "single-sided" (issuer and verifier are the same entity (in this case, us, our Manifold production instance)). In both cases (signup and login) the owner visits our webpage, we present a QR Code which the owner scans with their phone, then taps "Accept" button and the process completes without further ado.

  • Connection between owner pico and owner (through wallet)
  • Owner pico issues credential to owner recognizing the owner
  • Owner can use the credential to prove ownership to Manifold root pico or anyone else
