Create a static webpage called 'About' that is linked from the site header and footer. Annabel will provide text for this page.

Profoundly more complicated than you would think to put a static link in the navigation bar of DSpace that routes to /info/about. See here. I tried implementing his fix, and when that didn't work, I followed up to see if anyone figured out a way to do this that's compatible with DSpace Angular v8, but until someone responds, this is just unfortunately one of those time-consuming things. A janky temporary fix would be to link to a GitHub README that explains what PEDSpace is but I don't think anyone wants that.

Okay, I'm doing a little research into what other folks are doing:

It looks like Cornell links to their external LibGuides from the Help button in the banner and the various links in the footer.

The Texas Digital Library does the same (i.e., it's About button links to an external site).

Here is an example of a site (developed by Atmire though), that has the About page incorporated IN the repository.

Would it be easier to add a link to an external site than to add a static page in the application?

Yes. That's why Cornell and Texas Digital Library both linked externally, and why I suggested GitHub (maybe even a GitHub Pages page). It would just make more sense to do that for now than to spend more hours figuring out how to implement an About page ahead of the launch.

Okay great to know! I'm going to see if we might be able to put something on the main website or if we can do something like this https://pedsnetapps.chop.edu/. So put a plug in this until I figure out where we can put it.

Add "About" link directing to https://pedsnet.org/data/variable-dictionary/

Create button in the Title header next to PEDSnet Home and add a link in the footer.
