I assume 'faction' is the parliamentary group? In English, 'faction' is more commonly used in reference to schisms within a party (e.g. [1]). |

In Popolo, political group is used, as not all legislatures are known as "parliaments". |
Adopting Popolo terminology would seem sensible, in general. Apart from the EU, some sub-national legislatures also appear to use 'political group' (like the Western Australian upper chamber). |
Sure, Popolo is a very relevant guideline. I am not interested in duplicating work! That is one reason why I also like the suggestion #10 I am particilarly interested in German municipalities. Depending on the legal viewpoint these are not even legislatures. In many municipalities members can belong to either a "Fraktion" or a "Gruppe". A "Gruppe" is similar to a "Fraktion" but has less rights and usually less members. |
