The Stepup-Gateway has a deploy user that is used by the doctrine console commands for creating and modifying the database schema's that are managed by the gateway. This was used for managing the u2f schema. Since u2f has been removed from the gateway there are no database schema's any more the are managed by the gateway and this functionality should be removed.

Note that the gateway schema is managed by the middleware. The gateway only requires read (SELECT) access to the gateway schema.
