when a grid is loaded and a surface is added and visualized above the grid, if the view is zoomed in and out you see that the grid's relative location to the surface seems to change with part of grid crossing the surface (which is not real due to just zooming).
also if the depth is changed and the grid and surface cross, zooming in and out would results in a mirror image of the cross section and another depth.
will try to find a public model that can show this behavior
