"In addition, the panlobular hepatitis observed in rMVA-S-immunized ferrets was also accompanied by signs of focal necrosis of liver cells, including swelling of hepatocytes (hydropic degeneration), increased acidophilia, and hyperchromatic and fragmented nuclei (karyorrhexis). For the paper, it occurs at an abnormal level in the liver. As this is a
cell level AE, I am not sure how to handle it as a tissue level. We will
discuss this next Monday.

Karyorrhexis is the destructive fragmentation of the nucleus of a dying
cell whereby its chromatin is distributed irregularly throughout the
cytoplasm.
This appears to be cell nucleus level phenomenon. Does it occur at
abnormal level or at normal level?
