*Sunamu did not show cover at all when using GNOME Music.

QMMP works with the latest changes in branch master. Just make sure you enable MPRIS2 as a plugin for it.
Lollypop doesn't have the MetadataChanged signal, and therefore it is not really able to be supported (but master picks its initial state up -- nothing I can do other than that, really).

I am too lazy to test Amarok lol.

By the way, please make it into a table. Also, reporting features working or not (seekbar support, next, previous, shuffle and repeat buttons) would be better.

I'm running MX Linux 22, using good ol' Cantata 2.4.2 (thanks, Mr. Drummond!) and whatever version of MPD is latest. HOWEVER, it seems to have issues getting the right lyrics (Cantata had no such problem). For example, I fired up The Band's version "Don't Do It" (never mind that it was written in 1966 by Marvin Gaye!) and Sunamu shows (dirty!) lyrics for "Don't Do It" by some act named Young Jeezy (kinda cheezy?). Not sure what lyrics databases are searched, but in any case just adding the current artist (Sunamu showed it) might help the search. Like I said, even though it was written by Marvin Gaye, it's been covered by The Band, The Who, and others.

In any case, way cool project -- keep up the good work! I'm not sure what I'm missing by not having libvips installed but at least it shows up (on my second monitor) and works (sometimes great, sometimes not, but entertaining in any case!).

Have you tried playing the same song in a different player?
My guess is that the lyrics provider doesn't have the lyrics corresponding to the band you're listening to so it returns another one with a similar(ish) name. The same behavior will probably happen with other players if that's true.

Ok small update, I was able to use my laptop to test that.
Using Spotify, I do have the right lyrics (and they're synced!). Spotify shows the same lyrics in the client, they're both from Musixmatch.
What's the provider shown in the bottom half hand corner of Sunamu's window? I'd guess it's NetEase and that they don't have this song's lyrics.

(And wow, indeed it's not a recent song :') Great to see diverse music taste in Sunamu's users base!)

It's not easy to see the lyrics provider! Teeny-tiny font (and I've got ancient eyes!), I can't seem to control the window size, and every time I move my cursor to the lyrics provider text, the controls pop up over! Yikes! But yeah, squinting really hard, it does look like NetEase. :-)

As for diverse music taste, I play bass guitar and trombone in a band that started 50+ years ago, so this stuff is quite familiar. (Lotsa new stuff too, and local to me in NC! Tune in to "ThatStation.net" some time!!!)

And awww, what a shame -- Sunamu can't show the lyrics for James McMurtry's "Choctaw Bingo". Awww. (It's playing in Cantata, which is showing them crazy lyrics.)

Sure. This started out innocently enough, reporting some success with Cantata, but then it showed cracks. Any new stuff will be in the issues for sure! Do I need to move/re-report anything there now?

Not for now; while this is an issue, it's got nothing to do with Sunamu. If you didn't do it yet, please upgrade to 2.1.0 which has first-class Musixmatch support.

Yesss! Much mo' bettah with 2.1.0! -- at least for "Choctaw Bingo". It STILL pulls lyrics for Young Jeezy's "Don't Do It" song (?) instead of the much earlier one by Marvin Gaye and covered by the likes of The Who and The Band.

Sunamu keeps a lyrics cache that doesn't really get wiped between upgrades, so that might be why.

You can safely delete all the files in $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/sunamu/Lyrics Cache to reset the cache.

Not at all. It might be that the lyrics are genuinely out of sync. It does happen for me as well with certain songs.

First I want to thank you for that great software, I enjoy it a lot. May I add my experience?
It works fine with Cinnamon panel radio++ applet. It does not work with the KDE Plasmoid "Advanced Radio Player".
It works with the flatpak app "kasts" a podcast player.
