Whenever I use a probe core on a vessel with StretchyTanks, anytime I quickload during a probe flight, or switch to a probe in the tracking station, the probe is invisible and the probe is replaced with a single 1.25m stretchy tank. The probe is incapable of being controlled, and if it is in orbit around Kerbin, it is invisible.

Sorry, missed this. What was the root part of the vessel?

If I recall correctly it was either the RCL01 Remote Guidance Unit, or a 2.5m Stretchy tank. It's been a while, and the craft has been deleted.

Ah--yeah, stretchies do not work as root parts. That's probably what it was.
