Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
There are no error messages for doing things out of order. Some of us are impatient and skip ahead when we aren't supposed to

Describe the solution you'd like
When running create-dockerfile it is not obvious that the user has to run create-checkout and other things first. There should be a check and error messages stating what needs to be done if certain steps are skipped. Otherwise the errors are unclear and mysterious.

Describe alternatives you've considered
I've considered personality changes, but at 42 years into my life, I don't think this is likely.
