Before Continuing:

  • Check you are using the latest version of the mods and its dependencies
  • Always include a latest.log if you are crashing
  • Remove mod that enhances Minecraft: Optifine, Sodium, others. The issue persists.
  • If you are unsure which mod is the culprit.
Disable all of your mods and enable them 1-2 mods each time to isolate the culprit
  • Confirm that there is no existing issue with a similar description submitted in the list of issues.

Supplementaries Version

supplementaries-1.20-3.1.6

Moonlight Lib Version

moonlight-1.20-2.13.30-forge

Issue Detail

Book piles rendered as 4 purple-black blocks in one-block space. This happens in large modpacks (250+ mods). It became normal if resources get reloaded (F3+T does this).

I don't know what mod could cause this

It's not caused by a certain mod. I initially think it is, removed (and finally re-added) some mods that turned out to be well with supplementaries. I have 250+ mods in my pack, and the book piles suddenly get corrupted as more and more mods added to the pack. F3+T fixes it, but dosn't persist.

It must be. If it doesn't happen without other mod it must be something to do with another mod

Could it be caused by loading too many textures? I previosly removed a mod with a bunch of paintings to fix the book piles, then it got corrupted again as I added a minecart-related mod. And the book piles are no longer corrupted if load the 3 mods together but without other stuff.

Another thing, F3+T in another world (a super flat for example) fixes it and persists among world until the client get closed. Reloading resources before entering any worlds fixes it as well.

No it must be caused by something more specific

That means I'll have to remove and add each mod from my 250+ modpack to find it 😂 (and is possible to be unable to find at all)

You wouldnt obviously do it one by one. Binary search

Can be fixed with this mod installed (dafault configuration). Mentioned as a reference, might be helpful.
