I was thinking of a 3D printed case as well, the only concern I have about it is how are we going to secure the lid on it in such a way that it would be waterproof
Silicone caulking is the easiest, or a groove and an 0-ring is reusable, i'd recommend a layer of marine epoxy or waterproof wood glue on the inside, it's very hard to get naturally waterproof 3d prints
The Pi requires a new (waterproof) box
