I understand that should I be in a position to receive funds from MAGIC Grants for any reason, I will need to provide identifying information to the organization privately. Election to a committee does not guarantee compensation even if compensation is made available, since MAGIC Grants has legal limitations on how it can disburse funds.
I understand that an active committee is the number one factor in a Fund's success.
I am at least 18 years old.
Why you are running for the committee
I am running because I am a major advocate for privacy protocols such as Monero. Free commerce and reliable forward secrecy are essential characteristics that must be preserved in the cryptocurrency movement.
Why you are a good candidate
I am a good candidate because I have a proven track record of working on privacy protocols and standing up for privacy in various projects. I worked on and am the Gitopia repo owner for the Juicer protocol, a ZKP system written in CosmWasm for smart-contract enabled chains on Cosmos (https://gitopia.com/Juicer). I also authored the proposal to remove blocking lists from Cosmos DEX's (https://www.mintscan.io/osmosis/proposals/320). My experience and track record demonstrate my principled commitment to privacy.
What experience you bring to the table (eg: fundraising)
I bring development experience from a different community, and business experience from formerly running a Web3 company. My company wasn't able to generate sufficient revenue to outpace my normal salary, so I'm acutely aware of what the economics are for a successful business, and what bloat is unnecessary. Finally, I conduct infrastructure compliance audits for a living, so I have extensive experience with best practices across multiple hardware and operating systems.
What you hope the Fund will accomplish while you are on the committee
I hope to support concrete cryptographic development teams and those who have practical solutions to improving end-user privacy solutions compatible with Monero.
