Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

I'm always frustrated / distracted when as I scroll posts get briefly highlighted for no apparent reason, as can been seen happening here

Describe the solution you'd like

I'd like a setting to turn this off. I don't see the point of it and it annoys me.

Oh, man, I have the same problem. Thank you that I'n not alone)
I already hotfixed this with this pullrequest, but unfortunetely it was declined.
I also tried to fix it in AppKit, that Mastodon official app has, but it also declined because of misunderstanding target behaviour.

But Lucas says, that he will think about fix this later.

@LucasGGamerM did you ever manage to look at this? It still really bugs me. I think l'll have to look for another mobile client, which is a shame as I otherwise love what you've created.

I didn't remove it, but I significantly lowered the brightness of the effect. It should be a lot less annoying now
