Bobby fails to render fog at 128 render distance

Edit: ignore the chest problem (its from another mod)
At render distance 128, the fog effect cant be seen. Instead theres a sharp looking effect
Also when i look at chest from up close, the chest becomes the same color as the fog that shouldve been there
and, when i look from a far, the chest is rendered but nothing else is, so the chest looks like its just floating in the void

Heres what it looks like with render distance 32 (Bobby installed) in venus (from Ad Astra)

In the nether, the same problem occurs:
at render distance 64 (Bobby installed):

I also tested at other render distances:
32 - looks normal
64 - looks normal but the chests look a bit off
92 - chests and fog look weird
128 - chests look weird and fog doesnt exist

UPDATE: the chest problem turned out to be from another mod

the only problem is the fog
