Use Mailpit instead of MailHog in Vagrant. We use a release from Sep 4, 2016 and the last version was from Aug 11, 2020.
A good replacement appears to be Mailpit. See the link below.

As MailHog is only used in Vagrant it doesn't affect users of ilch.
