The help video is available in one language only. Is there a way to provide multiple help video? Also, in some situations text might more helpful than a video.

Possible solutions:

  • localise the videofile in the project
  • add captions encoded in the video (not sure if it is possible to add captions in multiple languages)

Or a more radical approach, to make the help system more flexible

  • make the help a tour itself
    or
  • reserve a special stop code for it ('help', or 00?).

That way the help video can be edited in the CMS, will become multilingual and we can add texts as well.
In that situation the button 'help' will jump to the stop or stop group with the code 'help'.

Originally we had done this with the help video, but since the introduction of multiple tours we decided to move it outside of the CMS and TourML. We might revisit it if we believe that it's necessary to have a different help video per tour. Until then, I believe the best route would be to your first solution and include a localized video for each language.

That's a good one. And make the help video an asset of a tour set?
When help is an asset, we can synchonise the help, and add text information as well.

The help video is now multilingual french/english with captions soft-encoded, both for french and english.

But I think the better way could different help video files :
TAP Help Video.mp4
TAP Help Video.fr.mp4
TAP Help Video.es.mp4 and so on

Localized help video would be loaded from current language code if available, with default fallback to english.
