So this is actually by design - if it cannot connect to WiFi (because maybe you rebooted the WiFi), it'll try and reconnect, and then failing that will go into AP mode. It'll sit in AP mode for 5 minutes, then reboot and try the whole thing again. So, in your case, you might be able to just let it run for another 5 minutes and it should reconnect. |

Whenever I reboot my AP or repeaters, the plate goes into AP mode (192.168.4.1). This requires a power cycle which if it is in the wall, can be a problem. Alternatively, I have to connect to the plate AP and reboot but the problem with that is ALL the plates use the same SSID so you have no idea who you are connecting to. All of this is not wife friendly 😂
Once I have used AP mode for the initial configuration, I don't use it again.
