Hi, I tried to install AML2 following AML setup but I couldn't get it to work yet.

[Symtoms]
When I open Launcher.exe inside "griefsyndrome" folder, nothing happened, no pop up, just nothing.

[Setup]

  • griefsyndrome game root directory
    • griefsyndrome.exe
    • Launcher.exe
    • aml
      • core
        • AMLCore.dll

I'm using window 10, have not set any compatibilities for launcher or game exe file yet.

Another question: I would like to try "BP multiplayer plugin" listed at here, however I couldn't find it in this repo. The closest I could find is AML AGSO mods, I'm not sure if they're the same. Could you provide me any document about this new "BP multiplayer plugin"?

It is not your problem. Actually this repo was not considered to be a place where a GS player can find out how to use AML. It was just a place to publish the code of AML core module.

For launching AML, you also need to compile the AMLInjected.dll and put it beside the AMLCore.dll. There are some other files, e.g. configs, that would be needed by AML, but I think it will be hard for you to prepare everything given only the code, and the biggest problem is that no mod has been published on GitHub, including the online play plugin as you mentioned. So I suggest you get the installation file (a RAR or ZIP archive) of AML somehow.

I am actually not sure whether and how I should publish the installation file on GitHub or some other public websites. Currently it's only provided in the QQ group and discord channel. Please let me know how you want to get it. If you have neither, also let me know, and I will reconsider whether to publish it here in the future.

Regarding to the online play plugin, I gave it up after finding out that the GSO 2.02 is already using a good protocol for input synchronization. I started it because I thout it was not. Since then I have been focusing on improving GSO in AML in a similar way I modify the original GS functions. You may see such code in AML as an evidence. So the conclusion is, I will not continue the PB and will not publish any version of it in the future. I recommend using AML+GSO for online play.

Thank you for quick reply.

I got it!
Could you send the Discord server link? I can try to investigate more from there. I had some trouble running "AML1" too but since the repo is archived, I could not post issue there. Maybe I could figure something in the Discord server.

I think it's still good to post in release section, like you did with AML2 Release (in AML1 i have to pull the repo and compile myself), otherwise I think put a QQ server number or Discord invite in the Readme of the repo is also good (if it's possible to share the server)
