Not sure if maybe the node connections should go vertical (think: Natron) instead of horizontal (like Blender's nodes). This would be a big change, but I am wondering which one is more efficient for users... |

Before I go on to fully transition to theme-able, custom widgets for the interface I think it's good to think about how the interface can be improved.
