Unexpected invalid email when signing up

I tried signing up using my [email protected] domain and was presented with invalid email address error. I tried [email protected] after and was presented with "session already in progress. Are you missing refresh=true?".

from there I entered "?refresh=true" into the browser and I was logged in as a user, but I wasn't actually logged in.

Eventually I tried with a @gmail.com in a new tab and it worked 👍🏾
