Your Pack Version

2.6.0

Your Proposal

Move the following quests to be after the "A Clear View" quest, or at least have a hidden dependency on it:

  • "Where can I put all the liquids?" (id: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVA==)
  • "Multiblock Tanks... Railcraft Tanks" (id: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALQ==)
  • "You can't tell them apart either?" (id: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHgA==, Farming Tab, available as early as Tier 0)

Your Goal

All three of these quests require glass. I didn't know how to make glass. I figured out a way to in NEI, but it involved a machine I didn't have yet and a process that didn't appear to be covered by the questbook. I wrote it up and posted it on the Discord and said "Is this how I was supposed to be making glass?" In response, I was told to read the questbook, which I was already doing.

I like to progress slowly, trying to do as many quests as possible before proceeding so that I don't feel like I'm "skipping ahead" or "missing things." To have a quest that requires glass before glass is introduced negates the purpose of the glass quest (for players like me) by making them figure out for themselves how to make glass when presumably you want to teach the player how to make glass or you wouldn't have devoted a quest to it.

Reordering the quests and adjusting the dependencies so that glass-related quests appear only after you've introduced glass production would solve this issue.

Your Vision

Quests teaching people how to do things should quests that require people to do those things, because then they know how to do those things, which is the purpose of the quest system. It would also cut down on help requests in the discord.
