Create and publish your own website, and we'll gift you a custom domain for free! Whether you're a passionate coder or a curious beginner, this is your chance to shine. Follow these steps to upload your website to GitHub and get started. Before we begin, be sure to star ⭐ the repo!
Note: This is ONLY for GIIS Singapore (either EC or PG-SMART Campus) students!
Creating a unique website helps you:
- Express Creativity: Showcase your unique ideas and design skills.
- Learn Web Development: Gain hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or any frontend and backend you want!
- Build a Digital Portfolio: Create a project to add to your portfolio.
We understand finances might be a barrier to setup your own website and we don't want that, so, we will pay for your domain!
- Click the "Fork" button at the top right of the initiative's GitHub repository.

Go to Your Fork: Navigate to your forked repository.

Create a Folder:
- Click "Add file" and select "Create new file".
- Enter
your-project-name/index.html
to create a new folder.

Open Your Project Folder:
- Click on the folder you created.

Upload Files:
- Click "Upload files".
- Drag and drop your website files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images).
- Commit Changes:
- Add a commit message, then click "Commit changes".
- Create a Pull Request:
- Go to the "Pull requests" tab and click "New pull request".
- Describe Your Changes:
- Add a title and description for your pull request.
- Click "Create pull request".
Once your pull request is approved, we’ll contact you with your custom domain details.
Ensure your project includes:
- Interactive Features
- Custom Styles with CSS
- Media Content
- Original Text Content (200 words min. per page)
- Ensure all files are correctly named and in the right structure.
- Check for feedback on your pull request and address any changes needed.

Note: GIIS Tech Club has the right to reject any YSWS application at its discretion. We also pay for only a limited depending on how our budget is set.
