[1.12.2] Vertical ceramic brick recipes broken

As title says, it is impossible to craft any vertical version of any ceramic brick pattern - they all come out as blank aquamarine ceramic tiles.

EDIT: To clarify, this affects all three brick patterns, not just the one shown in the screenshot.

I would also like to report what appears to be a missing feature somewhat related; blocks crafted with the tileworker, woodworker and glassworker cannot be rotated, which makes all asymmetrical patterns more or less useless.
