Good afternoon, I attempted to install Octave on my chromebook twice today and both times I got an error.
I selected:
Install -> allowed program permissions -> chose graphical Octave
System Information:
Acer Chromebook Spin 514
Chrome OS v112.0.5615.62 (64-bit)
AMD Ryzen 3 5000 series CPU (model 5125c)
AMD radeon graphics
8 Gb of ram
125 Gb of drive space, 75 Gb currently available.
takes a long time during 'Downloading required assets' after installing. Downloaded Asset 1 of 2 successfully but got an error code on the second item. Leads to error: "Failed to extract Filesystem. Try clearing supported files. Failure reason: [Command failed with: 2]".
I did this twice, uninstalled the software before re-installing and the problem persisted.
I did attempt to install Octave and use it with the linux developer mode. But the way these are sandboxed I don't think that should affect the install through the google store.
Best,
