Hi,

I've got the following error message when I try to install this application on Android:

"Failed to extract filesystem. Try clearing support files. Failure reason: [Command failed with: 255]. We are working to resolve these issues. You can let us know about this issue on Github if you'd like to help".

So here is me letting you know on GitHub :) Are you aware of this bug?

Thanks!
Bogdan

Thanks for letting us know. There are a few possible sources of that issue:

  1. Octave needs around 2GB of internal storage on your phone. This is a lot (though it really is what Octave needs) and we need to do something to handle not having enough storage in a graceful manner.
  2. There are some older chromebooks getting a similar error because they are x86_64 processors but the Play store is downloading the x86 version of our assets. I am not sure what to do about this one yet.
Can you tell me what device you are running and if you have enough storage space? Also, if nothing works out, I can refund you as long as I have your order id (see your email from Google).
    Thanks!
    Corbin

Hi Corbin,

As I already wrote you, my tablet is an older armv7l Samsung SM-P600 tablet with >4GB of storage left so space shouldn't be an issue and I've seen this problem also on my Oneplus 6.

Regarding the version of the asset, I see that the app is trying to download octave-rootfs.tar.gz-v0.0.2 before failing.

Cheers!
Bogdan

One more question, do I need to have a rooted device in order to use Octave on Android?
Thanks
