Note
These directions are written primarily for retro emulation handhelds. They should work on some consoles and PC handhelds as well, but certain steps may require some adapting for your particular device and RetroArch installation.
- A device with a working RetroArch installation
- A microSD card reader
- Download and extract the latest release, making sure to select the appropriate resolution for your device.
- After extracting the zip file, insert your microSD card and copy the extracted folder for your device's resolution to
(Your Retroarch directory)\.retroarch\overlay
. This will vary by device. - Put the microSD card into your device and start it up.
- Launch a game for the system you wish to set up.
- Open RetroArch's Quick Menu.
- In RetroArch's Quick Menu, select

. - Select

and navigate to theCovarr_Bezel-Bezels
folder. - Choose an appropriate config file for the system you are configuring.
- Select
Overlay Opacity
and set it to1.00
. You can set the value lower if you'd like an overlay to be darker (especially handy with WonderSwan and other systems with very light bezels). - Press B twice to return first to the Quick Menu and then to the RetroArch main menu.
- Select
Settings
, then selectVideo
. - Select
Scaling
. - Scroll down to
Aspect Ratio
and press right untilCustom
is selected. - Set the appropriate numbers for position and width/height as provided in the System Presets chart below.
- Press B twice to return to the main Settings menu, select
Main Menu
, then selectQuick Menu
. - Select
Overrides
, and thenSave Content Directory Overrides
. - If you wish to use shaders, continue to Optional Shader Configuration. Otherwise, repeat from step 4 onward for all desired systems.
