The client parameter on Google searches is currently removed by ClearURLs, even when the Allow referral marketing preference is enabled. For example:

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=query

Becomes:

https://www.google.com/search?q=query

My understanding is that this is an affiliate tag that generates revenue for Mozilla. It should arguably be exempt when this preference is set.

I also noticed that Google started returning 502s whenever the client tag is stripped. Disabling ClearURLs fixes the issue.
