Ability to create user defined functions in templates #6

Writing complex logic in templating code isn't ideal, and it would be best to keep the code in merge.py as simple as possible.

A user should be able to add a file like 'template_functions.py', the functions contained in this will be imported and available from templates.

Code for type mappings should be moved to here.
