need a robust way to pick up missing messages of newly implemented features when resuming a session

When a new feature based on new protobuf messages is implemented, the session resume function needs to include those new messages as well. However, currently there is no robust way to automatically detect missing messages. We need to find out a robust way to do so automatically.
