Stretch goal: put pathfinder plots in the $\LaTeX$ paper manuscript, with a paragraph describing the appearance of each plot.

We will eventually replace these figures when we expand the sample and refine our analysis, but getting them in place will help us see the direction of the paper, and clarify our thinking on what is missing.
