KiCAD v8 is about to become the major stable version and at this point we still maintain support for v6, v7 and v7.99 aka v8.
I will no longer support v6 from here on as it is a burden and the user base of v6 is small to non existant.
My plan is to support v7 and v8 (and v8.99) until v9 will be released in January 2025. Then I'll drop support for v7.
