We've been using OEmbed in our embedded component for a while now but it's causing some issues reported by some users:

  1. Sometimes it gets into an invalid state and the only solution found so far is deleting the _build dir.
  2. Compilation warning causing some confusion - igniter install: extra_applications and applications in use #669

We can either fix those issues upstream or try another library like unfurl, but still needs to evaluate oembed's status since it looks like not being actively maintained anymore.
