[FEATURE REQ] Update out-of-date samples

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The samples in this repository have not been updated in years and are outdated. Furthermore, they are using GCM/FCM which will soon be deprecated.

Describe the solution you'd like
The samples must target FCMv1. The Azure Function sample is also very out of date. I would like to update them.
