On the Alternative Installation reference page we have a section for setting up an [Isolated Installation](/reference/alt_install/#isolated-installation) which we would highly recommend using to do the migration from AstroNvim v3 to v4 so it does not interrupt your editor workflow and allows you to take your time. Here are some example steps to get started with a migration:
