FAA Digital Obstacle File

The Digital Obstacle File (updated every 56 days) describes all known obstacles of interest to aviation users in the United States, with limited coverage of the Pacific, the Caribbean, Canada, and Mexico. The obstacles are assigned unique numerical identifiers; accuracy codes, and listed in order by state.

Script (Recommended)

script/setup.sh is used to set up the project in an initial state. It will download the daily DOF (DDOF) from a static link on the FAA website.

Manual

Although not recommended, the data can be downloaded manually:

  1. Go to the FAA website: Digital Obstacle File (DOF) or Daily Digital Obstacle File (DDOF)
  2. To download the DDOF, select the link DDOF DAT File
