Hello, please forgive me if this is rude to even ask, but the huawei mate 9 also runs the same soc. I recently was given one and am about to start porting linux to it. I was wondering in readme it says for hikey only. I assume this means its not possible to use this great project on other vendors devices with same soc? I knew it was a longshot but figured it was worth asking. It sounds like it has some sorta gui and since the hikey uses hdmi and the mate 9 uses a (i believe) mipi lcd at the very least that woulda needed addressing. If at all possible a brief explanation (ie trust keys etc) that causes the incompatibility, might make it so i dont hafta bother people who are obviously my betters in the future, regaurding such things. Ill end with saying everything you guys do is very impressive and unbelievably important. Somehow the extreme importance of opensource is lost on the masses, you guys should be touted as hero's and thanked daily, unfortunately thats not the case. A very honest heart felt thankyou my friends.
